Throw Down (2004), by Johnnie To
A man is drinking his life away while poorly managing a bar when another man comes to challenge him in a judo match, having heard he used to be a great fighter, and a woman comes to audition as a singer, looking to make her dream of becoming a famous singer come true.
The movie's always quite light, but some of the themes are serious, the cinematography's great, the atmosphere's great, and Louis Koo has great judo for a HK actor.
