4 is an unfortunate case. It at least let us know that Pikmin as a series wasn't dead, but holy shit the casualization is unreal. Cutscene after cutscene, hundreds of in-game quips by the random captains you save, Oatchi sliding the difficulty meter down to 0, dogshit accessibility features you can't turn off (which frequently are detrimental to your gameplay), the list goes on since I don't even mention the new types.
The world it presents is beautiful, actually looking good on Switch 1 is incredible when Gamefreak can't even make their flagship IP not look like a game for a console that came out 20 years ago. It just sucks seeing this nosedive. The signs were there in 3 but I didn't think it would be this bad in 4.
