Kyiv Police Charge Man for Harassing Street Musician in Wheelchair

Police in Kyiv have charged a 29-year-old man with petty hooliganism after a video circulated online showing him verbally harassing a street musician in a wheelchair for refusing to perform a song in Russian.
The incident took place several days ago in the capital's Darnytskyi district. The footage shows the man aggressively demanding the musician, Ivan Zamiha, sing in Russian. When Zamiha, a well-known performer from Kryvyi Rih who often raises money for the Ukrainian military, politely declined, the man began shouting obscenities and threatening him.
Authorities identified the suspect after the video gained widespread attention on social media. In his statement to the police, the man, a Kyiv resident, claimed he was intoxicated and could not explain his actions. He was brought to the Darnytskyi police precinct, where an administrative case was filed against him under Article 173 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
