Residents of Russia's Belgorod region complain about instructors firing at children in the Armata military-patriotic camp.
It appears that more parents knew about this, but decided to stay silent.
The militarization of Russian children is alarming and should be taken very seriously.
In the comments under Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov's post on social medja, the mother of one of the children, Laura Trokhimchuk, wrote that on August 12, she had sent her child to Armata, but by August 15, was forced to take him back due to abuse by the instructors.
"An instructor threw a training grenade or a flash-bang (I can't tell the difference) at my son's feet, unexpectedly from behind. He and another boy were dazed and felt severe headaches. The instructor just laughed and walked away. Yesterday, during a missile alert, the children were shot at with an airgun using rubber bullets so they would run faster. Every day there was swearing, insults. They told one of the boys they would shoot his fingers off if he didn’t take them out of his pockets, that they would stick a grenade in some place. I’m ashamed to even write this, but they were not ashamed to say such things to children," the woman wrote.
Another man in the comments confirmed Laura's words: "My brother was also at Armata during this time, but decided to remain silent about these incidents so as not to get anyone in trouble." He asked for an investigation into whether the instructors are fit to work with children, as well as an assessment of the psychological condition of the one who threw grenades at the trainees' feet.
