The new model vaquero is smaller than the old model vaquero.
I have an old model and my friend has a new model. The new model is about the same size as my italian single actions, just a little larger.
The rugers have coil springs and its a little beefier than the italian ones. My biggest problem with uberti or pietta is the extremely soft screws.

That could have been a lot worse. Did you have it on quarter cock or did you really just set the hammer down on a primer?
Thats one of the reasons why when carry a single action, its a transfer bar ruger. Id rather have six safely than risk it with one of my cimarrons.
I only load five when i carry one without a transfer bar.

Pietta makes one. I think one in particular is called the midnight special. I used to have an all blued 10 shot 22lr pietta. I sold it because it was a pain to line up the ejector rod with the tiny chambers. The clicks of the cylinder were just past where they needed to be. That aside new piettas are nicer than they used to be.

Love me some stag grips
Three of my rugers wear them.
Nice bearcat btw. I occasionally carry mine when im canoeing just for fun. Its so light that it can be thrown in my bag or on my hip without a second thought.
