That's so funny, when I went to visit my dad today he was watching the episode where Penny called him a creep for being sexist, they made up, and Howard then tried to kiss her only to get socked in the face. I make fun of Lorrie sitcoms for being normie retard tier but that was pretty on the nose for how the social reject thinks.
I mean honestly, being the really uncool loser in school and being socially outcasted from the group when you want acceptance causes people to get both really anxious and really excited at the same time over little interactions. I, to a lesser extent, had that problem, and it wasn't until I dated a few times and got real friends and friend circles that I learned to calm down. That's not a conscious thing you have to learn, you just look at having friends and romances less like a God given gift and more just as a normal thing that happens to people, still nice but normal. Easy to say to people who still haven't tasted that yet, and frankly when I was still going to local PCs and regionals I too wanted to make that fairy tale group of friends from Pokemon, but that went pretty south and I realized you don't go to these events for a fairy tale magic experience, you go there for the event and the fairy tale experience is made from your intended efforts.
It really is a "just be yourself" situation, catch 22, nobody will be able to understand until they just pick it up, and I lament the pain many have to go through with good intentions or hopes in their heart only to realize they are just as much part of the problem purely by being spastic autizards.
