It's not that simple. Without refactoring/re-writing spaghetti old code (as it was clearly the case) they cannot add any new meaningful updates. I reckon we will have a port at our PoW soon after sailing releases.

This is also not an easy task to pull off without breaking the game or adding new bugs.
