WB bought out Atari and reduced them to spamming hundreds of games that didn't work, nobody wanted and nobody bought. That's happening. That's Steam Greenlight, which is tens of thousands of games that nobody fucking wants and nobody fucking buys. If the entire industry was nothing but Steam Greenlight, that'd be the crash, but there's other shit going on.
Just like what happened with the other crash - the second Nintendo released the NES with semi-decent shit on it, the crash magically dissipated. And didn't affect the whole industry to begin with, C64 did fine during that period.
