>You do know that shit would be far worse if your situation was flipped right?
this holds the implication that not only would my family be well off enough to send me to college in the first place, but that I would be next in line in a family that at least has considerable net worth, and that almost certainly based off the last two assumptions, I would have enough for basic expenses and cost-of-living prior. I am in this position because I have no other choice for a better future. it's not enough that I have the pressure of being 'the smart one' of the family, on top of working myself to the bone to maintain my financial responsibilities, to further maintain my poverty stricken living status. it's not enough, because my family actively asks of me for financial help WHILE all of this is the case. I work full-time and don't make enough money to cover all bases, all while not having enough time to take care of myself. they know I'm competely independent in my struggles, and cannot offer a single cent towards my education, but they justify it all no matter how egregious by: "he'll figure it out, he's the smart one". royally fuck you for thinking that the flipside would be any worse, I'll guaranteed die an early death because of this bullshit.
