The Holy Knights are mostly half-blood Celestial Dragons who fight their way to the top to avoid ending up as slaves.

I find it weird that the other Celestial Dragons, like Charlos, have no ambition to become Holy Knights. Brook says HKs have a higher rank than the fodder CDs.
