>The point that Trump, however, doesn't seem to understand is: For the PRC leadership, American support for China is irrelevant since that support was given to the Kuomintang Nationalist Forces, which during World War II were the dominant Chinese faction fighting Japanese Imperialism, while the Communist Party and its leader, Mao Zedong, sat in Shanxi throughout the war (and even thanked Japan for weakening the ROC).
