So basically, /a/ is not conducive towards 'discussion' of anime and that has been the case of nigh on 20 years. Probably longer, I wouldn't know that far back.
This is because generalized populations forced to discuss one topic are not going to have much to say, especially for people on sites such as this, where the average person is now an uneducated retard who can't divorce themes from narrative, nor power levels from concept.
This applies to all boards by the way, it's just /tv/ and /v/ and /co/ and /pol/ seem like they have better anime discussion because it occurs in rare pockets and everyone who is interested in anime there has to be filtered to one thread on the catalog. As someone who has actually been in those threads though, it's mostly the same uneducated and retarded types banging on about the same shows that inevitably aired on American TV and repeating the same lines- which would be obnoxious and boring on /a/, and thus not go too far (i.e., something as benign as 'Evangelion had a shit ending'), but given the small scope of the boards in regards to anime, those dull lines could become the entire thread.
For an example- Dragon Ball. On /a/, it's a shitpost general because there is nothing to discuss anymore. Everywhere outside of /a/, it's a regurgitation of the same handful of points, forever, because it is so rarely discussed.
Stuff like
>Dub vs Sub (25+ years)
>Power Levels (25+ years)
>Was Toriyama senile (20 years)
>GT vs Super (10 years)
Boring shit like that which has already been discussed by people far smarter than anyone posting on any of these boards.
