Every man is either going to fall into lust (chasing sex or hedonistic desires more generally like drugs and alcohol) or fall into greed (supporting yourself and your family to the extent you become Machiavellian in your pursuit for wealth and power).

The only alternative is becoming a monk-type of person and you’ll ultimately be too passive and weak if you ever want a family.

This isn’t a “haha roommates suck” thread. I’m serious. I’ve reached some kind of limit in my head. Every day feels like I’m trapped in someone else’s life, held hostage by shared walls and bad energy. I’m on SSDI/Survivor’s Benefits, I do Amazon Flex when I can, but I can’t take another person’s mood swings bleeding into my space. I can’t do the unspoken tension, the slammed doors, the kitchen etiquette games, the awkward silences, the fucking psychic pressure of knowing someone’s always nearby. I need a place of my own, even if it’s a box. Anyone here make it out? How the fuck do you swing it solo when everything costs $1300+ to breathe?
