>Can FFXIV be saved
Honestly it would be pretty easy if 8.0 was a horizontal gameplay-focused expansion and not the same linear upwards vertical story-heavy expansion they keep turning the wheel with each cycle.
>Jobs are now split into three focus pathways that all mix up the job's primary functions with their own heavily varied gameplay gimmicks, with a Standard Job playing mostly like the present job framework, an Alpha job having a more "extreme" take on the present version of the job, and an Omega job being a heavily divorced mechanical variant of the job based on the job fantasy (Warrior[S] would then branch into Berserker[A] and Viking[O])
>Fields now pop CEs with timers and trackers that players can field queue into
>Treasure Dungeons are now unlocked via a combination of new field CEs and FATE chains that pop specific special bosses, with regular FATEs contributing to field spawns
>Normal dungeons are 100% replaced by Variant equivalents, with most paths only requiring 2 bosses to clear and full progression only rewarding the player with more drop opportunities and dungeon lore (you can beat the dungeon once and never have to do it again)
>FL replaced by RW in the duty roulette, Feast returns, Feast Rewards now unlocked by an utterly substantial toll in Trophy Crystals and Wolf Marks rather than win trading theater
>First year of 8.0 dropping just place /every/ holiday event item and quest into the holiday cycle for that year, incentivizing players to stick around for each one so they can both see the parts they've missed, as well as to get the items they'll soon not be able to acquire
>Double (ideally Triple) the amount of Gold Saucer minigames. There is no valid reason we do not have Blacjack, Koi-Koi, or regular-assed slot machines in the FFXIV casino
>Allow PvP requests in housing areas, as well as Gold Saucer game tables
>Remove all weekly caps
It's that easy. Game entirely saved as the expansion drops.
