Another thing is that it homogenises builds and indirectly forces you to play the way some shitcord janny deems is "correct". If you dedicate your entire build to be a 99INT glass cannon mage with a fully optimised set, then yes, you do deserve to pump some real damage after a 15 second static MMO-tier cast of Comet Azur while an entire coordinated team pulls aggro to keep the boss in place. Maybe not a 1shot, but a solid 2 casts of 40% of the bar each. Not my idea of fun, but on principle it should work.
Instead, it's just nuked from the game. Comet Azur is damage nerfed, all pieces of the Azur set do less to buff Azur magic, Terra Magika is useless and Hidden Tear no longer nulls FP (even before the new megadrain stamina). Every single change is specifically to fuck over a full-investment caster, because "you're not supposed to play that way, you need more build diversity" doublespeak. And the worst part is that it's such an obvious vendetta, because it's not nerfed in moderation so other options have a chance to shine, it's functionally deleted and a wasted slot. If each piece doesn't even work in optimal conditions, then who the fuck is supposed to use any in suboptimal conditions? You will play as a generalist brawler / spellblade, or you won't play at all.
And the kicker is that you still can cheese the mod - just not with what's conventionally considered broke. Everything underrated still flies under the radar, because shitcord jannies don't understand the game they're demanding you to play the way they tell you. Easy example, Rot Threads nerfed to useless for being a multihit vs large bosses, but Glintstone Spiral (the same shit) is untouched. Apparently a jewuber embarrassed them by exploiting Holy Ground and a colossal to stunlock bosses with infinite heals - an old trick, but one the retard shitcorders weren't aware of. The next patch, they nerf-deleted it from the game.
It's autistic, petty and unfun spite that adds nothing.
