It’s fair to say, again, there are cranks on the right with outlandish beliefs.
But “outlandish” beliefs on the left are mainstream, sacred cows that will get you excommunicated.
A man is a woman, just because he says so. Immigration and cultural diversity are good, and saying otherwise makes you a racist. White people (or even “whiteness”) are a scourge and the US deserves to be “decolonized”.
These may sound extreme, but these are beliefs held by the very same people you mentioned as preferable alternatives. These are beliefs held by the rank and file that you cannot object to, lest you risk being unpersoned.
A party that censors its own kind, that does not welcome criticism, that embraces dogma, shaming and shouting down its internal enemies has no future - period.
I watched Occupy Wall Street fail. I was there. I saw the “woke” types you claim to be harmless undermine the goals of the movement in real time, divide it into factions based along race and creed, turn it from a class struggle for justice into a peacocking contest for the aggrieved. With no focus, it fell apart.
