Behind the Character Design of Bakuage Sentai BoonBoomger

BunRed: Designed by Mr. Tatsumi Maika
>I designed it interpreting the rubber wheels on the head such that the wheels represent the eyes, and the shield part corresponds to the contact point between the wheels. As for the wheels located at the back or near the ankles, I intended to have patterns that coordinate with the mask. An important point is that, in reality, each person's wheels have completely different "molds". Even the treads on the rubber tires are uniquely designed. Looking back now, I feel it might have been a bit too detailed (haha). But since this design is centered around the theme of "rubber". I deliberately tried to do it as well as I could.
>I wanted this hero suit to be easily understood as a prototype, so I designed the torso to be inspired by work clothes worn by factory workers. And to make a unifying element for all the members, I included the "gauge" pattern, which is a key point of this design. This pattern also connects to the transformation sequence, where the respective member's color appears together with the gauge. (Mr. Tatsumi from the PLEX team)

>First, I have to say that this is one of the Super Sentai series with very few "signature colors"— almost all are white. And since BoonBoomChanger, BoonBoomger Robo, and all the heroes themselves are entirely white, I told Tatsumi, "If you hold the BoonBoomChanger in the right hand and the hand itself is white, won't it just blend away?" After that, the right-hand glove was changed to "red". The result is that this became a very rare Super Sentai series where the left and right gloves are different colors. Usually, even if the sleeves are different colors, the gloves are always the same color.
