I would say keep the job but live incredibly frugally so that you can afford rent

pirate all media
buy all food bulk (100lb bags of rice, that kind of thing). Try to never eat out
Live without a car, if possible
And obviously never get a gf

If you do all that you can probably live reasonably well on 50k/year
Then you can pick up an inexpensive hobby like drawing or guitar (as long as you only buy one and don't get autistic about pedals) and spend all your "remote work" time on improoving. This will satisfy your desire to be push yourself and reach your potential
