On the 16th of August of 2011, Seiun Sky died at the age of 16 years old.

While the official story by the JRA says that it was a heart attack, the owner's personal blog reveals it to havw actually been blunt force trauma from hitting his head on the stable housing him.

His owner, who spent time taking care of Seiun Sky personally, believes it to have been premeditated suicide, with Seiun Sky choosing death over the boring life of a retired racehorse.
