I mean, it depends on how you interpret the comic material. Honestly the art (Gurihiru's work), like Suki kneeling or whatever, is much more responsible for why people felt that chemistry between them rather than the dialogue (Yang's work). But yeah, after Yang got canned all that ended instantly. In Imbalance they are clearly together and Zuki and Tokka got btfo'd.
