i agree with basically everything you've said but I dont think it's consumers deciding how much an artist is paid. you know its an oversimplification to think 100% of an albums sales go to the artist. it's only getting worse with streaming and ticket scalping. it's just capitalism fucking up a good thing

there's no way you believe its the layman buying a £2 ai slop album over £12 real album. it will be companies and studios using ai to avoid having to shell out royalties. advertising, cinema etc.
it's enshittification and we're all going to be on the receiving end. we'll be served ai slop because its what we're given and if we dont like it we should just get better jobs to afford those £300 concert tickets (mst of which goes to ticketmaster and similar)
