When you say "filter" it's kind of a self report you don't know what you're talking about, it's like someone saying "tube TV" as a technical term. Before you ascribe retarded beliefs to me, I don't even play games on emulators at this point, but modern shaders are very good with proper setup. I have a friend who is very autistic about them and I will admit his setup looks essentially 1:1 with a consumer set when you are in-person. I imagine they will only get better.
Again I also have CRT autism but I really think people have thrown the proverbial baby out with the bathwater when it comes to shaders
