i came across this project last year when i was researching my own small stone wall project and, man, i love the stonework. the patience to carve out each individual piece of limestone and any related detail work, with the expertise to piece together and create a satisfyingly practical and beautiful, plumb frame. it's really art.
even the shaped wet-walled sandstone isn't as easy to do as many might expect; you have to know what you're doing. it's not as complex as doing dry-stacked walls, but any amateur approaching making stone walls without some instruction would likely be surprised at how many mistakes they might make in what seems like should be a simple project.
if anyone else is looking into and learning things about stonework/mason related projects, i'd also recommend some things from Mike Haduck's channel, as he discusses various things such as analyzing both ancient and historical stone structures, rock facing/shaping/carving, retaining wall construction/failures/repairs and more. i'd say he was my best resource outside of what i looked into specifically for english/scot style dry-stacked walls.
