I like a certain level of execution leniency. For instance, I can't, for the life of me, do a delta motion. Maybe if I played a game or character with one, I could eventually learn, but I just can't, and I am absolutely very happy that they aren't used in SF anymore. However, I do agree that there needs to be a certain level of execution barriers in order to make the game actually interesting. I feel the variety of inputs is really what makes fighting games unique, because each character can literally FEEL distinct by the way you control them.
Anyway, Drive Impact was really what pissed me off after a while. Drive Rush was kinda fun to use as combo extenders. I, myself, actually like combos, but not when they're absurdly long. Anyway, I can't react to DI for the life of me, even after labbing for hours, and there were so many times where I was in some kind of animation, like let's say divekick, and I can't do shit. Yeah, that's on me for doing an uncancelable move, but even when I'm just jabbing, their DI eats my jabs and I get fucked. It's literally just a big retard button they can hit, gain some armor, and win the trade. It's very annoying.
I wanted to reach Master and maybe even Grand Master. I wanted to be super good at the game, but I eventually just got pissed off with it. At time time, I was also checking out older SF games, since I had only ever played 2 when I was young and V when it came out, and I really enjoyed 3rd Strike. At this point, I've completely uninstalled SF6 and am determined to become very skilled with Chun Li. This thread has convinced me to check out Strive, so maybe I'll give that game a shot, too. I absolutely love the characters.
I really miss my girl, Cammy. I've loved her since I was a kid. Alas, maybe SF7 won't be shit.
