1.) Disarm population with firearms prohibitions under the guise of "public safety"
2.) Socialize basic services (government controlled, funded by tax dollars)
3.) Raise the price of everything, including basic goods and also taxes
4.) Restrict mobility (make cars and gasoline expensive, tax movement with tolls and commuter surcharges + high insurance premiums)
5.) Make housing expensive so majority of funds are spent on taxes, food, and housing with little disposable income left

Make people dependent on the government for their daily existence, and remove their ability to resist or revolt in any meaningful way. It didn't happen overnight, they've been doing this for decades now.
