Most of the work on this is unfortunately Marxist, while Foucault technically toes the line. The best I've come up with is it's latent shamanism that doesn't work in the Capitalist society. But I'm only saying this because most of the work is pseudo-Marxist. Marx and Freud are actually two sides of the same rambunctious coin, so it would be inevitably deconstructed if Marxists came up with an argument against Freud.
Although I call him Sigmund Fraud, the idea that mythos is at the bottom of the psyche is a decent theory, and it's pretty genuinely consummated in Lacan's claim that the subconscious is structured like a language.
The problem is pharmakeia claims the title of Absolute Science, just like they did with the vaccines. It's a rambunctious switcheroo, for they take their authority from Freud, who was no materialist, and then they wear their materialist science hats and say
>I know for a fact you have a chemical imbalance
>Here I shall inject you with chemicals
Voila, chemical imbalance!
Psychiatrists are the witch doctors of the EEA, and they enter into type-competition with shaman so as to displace the proper function of the categorically "schizophrenic."
>I'm the medicine man now!
It's type-competition.
It would be interesting to explore other instances of type-competition, outside the purview of medicine.
I say it's similar to vaccines because just as Psychiatrists take their authority from Freud WHILE disavowing it, Vaccine Medicine Men take their authority from conventional shots and then switch it on you and give you mRNA. I wonder how long this analogy shall hold for.
