It's so insane. People had an agenda against Goku there. Maybe they love Piccolo, maybe they were raised with Abridged, maybe they love this TARDku meme. They ignore Goku stating in no uncertain terms, MULTIPLE TIMES, that only Gohan can do shit against Cell. Not just the Gohan who was already stronger than Goku in Super Saiyan, the angry hulking beast SS2 Gohan who was doing this to Vegeta level fighters and didn't actually scare Cell at that point.

There's no convincing people who have already made up their agenda. They need Goku to be retarded because saying otherwise would mean accepting they read the manga wrong.
