That's why he won. NYC has been under the control of the same boomers for ages. Mamdani is a young guy, charismatic, promises change while the others would bring more stagnation. That's not to say Mamdani is perfect, I'm actually kind of concerned of his economic policies, but the people are tired of the status quo, that's why he won.
