When did this become such a problem? My generation was hardly the first wave of comic readers but we never had any trouble getting into the comics. We started reading all these books when they were in their hundreds and we didn't have any trouble. We didn't know all the history but anything important was at least clear through context. This was how we followed the stories. We just read them and let the story explain things as it happened and going back into the older issues to learn the history was its own kind of fun. But now people can't process anything. Everyone demands a guide or a chart before they even decide that they want to read something and then it's just binge rush to get done with it.
