using both eyeballs independently is pretty cool
specially when looking at the moon
making the 3rd one work is sorta like calibrating the other 2, as best as I can tell. there's a certain tightrope act to it, but when it's on you can sort of tell, since it feels like you've got another eyelid that's squinting super duper hard. You get some neat visual artifacts too.
an easy training method is to just stick your hand out and experiment with focus levels. pick a finger, find a soft focus point in space between it and your eyes, and let your vision wander around. you should be able to see more than 5 fingers, meaning you have a high degree of separation. If the finger you are focusing on starts to look doubleheaded than you are overdoing it, so that they are blending together, crossing the streams... when you got it going right, a haze will start to develop around the object in question. that's the technique. just fuck around if you want, no one can prevent you from doing it unless you go to babylon and they take away your eyes again
relevant to the thread, cause when you have your eyes closed and are "going to sleep" you can do it there too. Matter of fact, it works much better, since it doesn't really need to squint anymore
