back in 2020 I actually thought Paimon was going to betray us and be evil, kinda like Airy in Bravely Default. But in 2025 I think this is really unlikely. Given what we know thus far and the how hoyo deals with lore and villains, I think she's definitely tied to HP, but doesn't know a thing and is genuine about being (you)r friend.
If I had to guess, I think Asmoday may be dead and Paimon was born from her remains.

Hoyo don't actually care if you use mods or not. The mods are only being detected now because Hoyo are enforcing a stricter anti-cheat to stop hackers from getting on the Stygian Onslaught leaderboard. No one will get banned.
