It does. I had this dream probably 10 years ago. I was inside some circular space, grecco-roman architecture and pillars everywhere. There were a few of us there, they called me "number 4". Had these symbols on my arm. Next thing I know I'm being chased. I believed that the only way out was through a small cube building in the center, which opened to the outside world. Perhaps that's how I got here to begin with. Something is definitely wrong with this place.
I consider the physical brain to be a confabulation and narrative construction machine, if you accept axioms like object permanence then it will work very hard to make the world make sense. It confabulates. In reality (ha) continuing to engage with the world seems to be a matter of suspension of disbelief. Like a dream. At times I've woken up "in the audience" so to speak, saw the script, saw our bodies performing on stage. And I thought, this is so ridiculous. I would interact with others on this basis "okay, they said the thing. Now I say my line." It was comical, but to them it's all real, so they didn't see it that way. I couldn't wake them up in the audience as well, everyone else was asleep. Moving under unseen compulsions.
