>I am convinced that Lucas was black mailed to get Star Wars out of him
Nope. He was just old and tired and with more money than he could possibly spend.
Lucas was 70 when he sold SW to Disney and had already done everything a man could possibly accomplish. He revolutionized cinema, created multiple successful companies all with massive influences, created and managed one of the most popular franchises of all time and was also happily married with kids and insanely rich.
The only thing he had left to do was management and creative endeavours. He seemed to have gotten sick from the former and the latter simply wasn't good.
Lucas didn't want to be the active producer guy he was in Empire and Return, but he also was too old and too powerful to change his ways to properly make Eps. I to III, so when they were commercially successful but critically lukewarm, he just called it a day.
