I thought the scene was a great metaphor for the state of things. Theres my old white ass, trying to enjoy some public space, looking the pasts colonial architecture next to a cheap city fountain that looks like an oversized version of something you would get from Home Depot, theres the last generation drunk, broke and jamming to rap, the next generation schmoozing with Achmed and begging for cigarettes, the older negro indecently clothed in public having the time of his life, all downtown after the pajeet female fails my order because she failed basic English. What an apropos tableau of the future.
