DLSS is bad because the entire point of higher framerates is to make the program more consistently responsive; it's the entire reason people say that lower framerates are more acceptable on genres with less action (i.e. JRPGs, Strategy games). DLSS (or any other framegen software, for that matter) does absolutely nothing to make the program more responsive, it just has you GPU making up smeary bullshit so you don't feel as though you've wasted hundreds on your fancy 120Hz monitor.

If your action game cannot reliably achieve 60FPS at the lowest settings even with hardware from 10+ years ago, then you had better either have some kind of gameplay innovation that justifies the poor performance or you have failed as a game developer. Borderlands 4 does absolutely nothing more Hardware-intensive with its gameplay than Borderlands fucking 2 in 2009; it's the same shit it's always been but on a bigger map. There are absolutely no gameplay changes which justify the horrendous performance of BL4, which means Gearbox has failed as a developer.
>BUT MUH OPEN WORLD
If Open Worlds as a concept caused performance this bad then like half of the AAA gaming landscape for the past 16 fucking years should have been impossible to run.
