Why put in any but a token amount of effort into dating these though? If at all?
So often they're talking to other guys, in fact it's unheard of that they wouldn't be and this is so normalized it's considered offensive and psychopathic to even bring that up. Because you should be ok that at the same time you are trying to form a special, one on one, romantic connection with a woman there might be other guys doing exactly that (or just fucking her outright).
Women were asked if they wanted attention or love and it's attention, as time has gone on more guys have figured that out and don't want to participate with somebody who'll treat them like they should worship her while she pines for her oneitis that got away (ie: fucked her with minimum effort).
If society wants this to change it can offer a better deal, it can't, so we wait for collapse.
Oh yeah one more thing:
Whenever you see this issue brought up in the accepted spaces online, you will notice that all the discourse is always framed in such a way that it's the fault of the male.

It is never:

Because this means now it's the *woman* that has to look inwards and find a way to improve, offer a better deal, or avoid the mistakes of her predecessors or otherwise change her behavior. If it's just re-heated male bashing, you're watching propaganda.
