Well, it's completed for one, which leads to me respecting the fanfic more. The magical elements lead to more interesting ideas as well. If you're looking for shock I'd say Bluebloods the more complete and interesting package, while also managing to tell a story at the same time. It's an obvious story, but I respect it more for sticking to it and knowing when to stop so that the shock stays shocking if that makes sense.
