Russia lost a Su-30SM jet while on a mission southeast of Zmiinyi (Snake) Island, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reports.

Reportedly, radio intercepts were received about the loss of contact with a Russian aircraft that was performing a mission southeast of the island. The aircraft crashed for unknown reasons.

According to preliminary reports, debris from the aircraft has already been found on the sea surface. The pilots have not yet been found, and the search for them continues.
