A chippy is one of those things if you say you didn't enjoy it 100 people will jump on you to say that you just went to a shit chippy and the chippy that THEY recommend will impress you. I will now join in.

I don't doubt they have some good ones. There's some chippy's in my city that I swear by. Every one of them pales in comparison to the ones out in bumfuck nowhere right by the sea. If the option was going to my favourite closest chippy and one that's a 2 hour drive away next to some rainy dock somewhere I would walk to the furthest away one.

Bonus is places like this usually sell crab, lobster, mussels etc. if fish and chips just isn't for you and you know it's fresh.
