A sobering thought just came to me
Would the things I grew up with even have the same magic they did for the kids of today? There's an arcade in my local mall, it's not the same arcade I knew as a child, but it's still an arcade.
And it's decently popular given its size and place in the mall, but I can't help but think. Do the kids actually care? Is the fact an arcade existing at all even matter when they have full games on their phones now? Or can turn on a dozen different apps if they're bored?
Sure I had a console back home, but being at an arcade always felt special to me, a place specfically made for video games that I would beg my parents to take me when given the chance?
Does that feeling even exist now?
Yeah, video games have changed, but I feel like something else has too, something more precious that never truely come back
