Consider this. The technical limitations of a turnbased system already constrains what is possible for a character to do, even moreso in a simplified gacha turnbased system. On top of that, rarity means that 4 stats must have an additional restraint as to not surpass 5 stars. As power eventually begins to creep, the gap between 4 stars and 5 stars widens even more than the gap between 5 stars. Eventually making 4 stars entirely pointless. Genshin not being turnbased still has wiggle room for 4 stars to become useful by providing some sort of utility. The switching between characters actually makes utility characters still viable, as they don't have to take to the field, or stand like 4 niggas in a row.
