Not a lot. I don't really focus on the plants and stuff unless they're highly unusual. I just note down the general kind of animals in an area. "like britain" or "like russia." that kind of thing. Recently for a little set of clans in a rocky landscape I felt inclined to flesh out the animals, but really all I did was write down "there are Long Haired Goats, little deer (like the japanese ones), and Cougars. The cougars eat the deer and goats, but neither are easy prey as the goats stay in aggresive herds and the deer are very fast."

For my own question, does anyone have links to a good resource where I can learn how big (as in area or territory) a place would be, be it city-state or nation? I really have no clue and I've sort of been eye-balling it. For example, picrel is one of the 5 Iberian clans. What would be a good guesstimate for the population of this clan given that each hex is 5 miles, and the landscape is very rocky and generally not amazing for farming? I guess like 7,000 maybe? but I have no clue.

real people who claim to be magicians. "Authentic Thaumatugy" and "Real magic" are basically schizo nonsense by Phillip Emmons Isaac Bonewits, but I thought they were interesting reads.
