>If Death can be erased then why can't War?
Falling speech towards Yoru in describes war as a mere "concept created by humans" while she herself being an "instinctual fear that awakens in every living being from the moment of their birth" - It's not my philosophical outlook on the matter, it's how Fujimoto decided to depict it. Given this definition, stands to reason that "Death" is also something beyond human because there is no fear more instinctual than the fear of death. Now, credit where it's due, Falling WAS defeated by War, so this may be the narrative implying that she was simply wrong...assuming that wasn't another plot by "Lady Death".
>How does that conflict with War getting erased???
That would require extensive argumentation, so'll just say that Asa is a deeply insecure teenage girl that struggles with autonomy and how she is perceived by others, she abhors wrongdoings, either because of how it reflects poorly on her image or out of genuine empathy, ambiguously. While Yoru is a deeply insecure devil that yearns to be remembered and accepted, she abhors emotional vulnerability. The rest can be deducted from that, Denji swooping in, erasing War and princess carrying Asa into the sunset wouldn't really address the point behind these characters.
>The prophecy was Death's powers activating and wiping out mankind. It didn't happen.
The fated day in which that's supposed to occur hasn't arrived yet, but it's true that the prophecy may be a sham. But in all likelyhood it'll be "true by technicality", befitting for a story centered about faustian bargains with devils.

Hemispherectomy is a thing, and what do you think is happening in picrel?
Hint: It's not something that would kill Asaru anyway.

Both Asa and Denji are already dead, they're living off devil power.
Pretty sure this dilema will be bought up soon enough, it'll be revealed that if Yoru returns Asa's body to her, she'll die. But then again, Asa dying, especially to the actions of another make no sense for her chatacter, they'll probably figure out a loophole to all of this, probably destroying Yoru's side of the brain, that way Asa keeps her powers and remains alive.
