IR gives you Unborn Echo boxes which usually get new sets grandfathered into them. I had over two hundred of them when Carthy rolled around so the instant I filled out my data bank for the new echos, I opened like 50 and immediately had a full set of echoes for Carthy. It's basically just a blank slate prefarm for future echo sets. It'll work the same for Frog's set and probably Augusta and Iuno past her.
