i have come here sporadically for years. as much trash as you usually have to sift through here to find anything of interest or quality it does have one thing that i haven't been able to find anywhere else and would imagine is becoming increasingly rare; uninhibited free speech. it's really been amazing watching what was once a sacred right be curtailed, controlled, and limited through any number of means. where once there was a separation between words and action, speech is now violence. where once everyone was entitled to an opinion, now their opinion most confirm to the increasingly narrow standards of social acceptability. it's beyond a cliche at this point, but the western words seems to be accelerating towards an authoritarian nightmare and many people are welcoming it, provided the autocrat is someone they support.
