I will never be cruel to transgender identified people, I'll never call you names, I know several in real life. But I do not believe it's actually good for your mental health, or the collective mental health of society at large. I've read all the studies I've been pointed to. They either have a Low Strength of Evidence in their findings, rely too heavily on self reported data, or have really weird attributions of cause. One study I read claimed that a hormonal factor was strongly associated with Gender Expression. But then the actual data showed that nearly 50% of all the participants in the study were somewhere in the middle in terms of that metric, and there were MtF and FtM individuals who tested in the "highly masculine and highly feminine" ranges corresponding to their biological sexes, despite being transgender identified.
It's bad science leading a conclusion they're emotionally invested in. That's all there is to it.
I have no religious or moral compunction at play here. I just don't like seeing what looks to me like the equivalent of giving an anorexic Ozempic, or amputating the healthy limb of a body dysmorphia disorder sufferer.
