The positives
>The granularity is wonderful, the crunchiness supreme. The overall inter-connectivity of systems feels really good.
>The goods system, mechanically, is really nice. Both streamlined and crunchy, it seems like they hit a good balance.
>Having 1 dogturd ruler doesn't sandbag your entire run like it can in eu5. I think they did a good job modeling the effect of a monarch.
>The cabinet system seems really cool, and I hope it gets some more love. Characters within cabinet seem rather inert ATM, when IRL a strong presence in a cabinet could steer the executive just as much as the executive could steer cabinet.
The shit
>Exploititive and illogical the Parliament system is.... you get to enact law changes, temp tax bumps and CB fabrications even if the debate fails. In fact, sometime you want the debate to fail bc it givse a bonus you rather have. So seems like the meta is to pick the Debate with the highest initial support, give out Agendas that arent complete crap, then drain the support number in order to pass a Request like changing a Law or taxes or getting a CB. This seems counterintuitive to what a Debate should do...if you want the bonsues of the Requests you should need the Debate to pass
>Imbalanced as heck in some areas, but nothing that can't be addressed just by changing some numbers.
>The AI overall seems kinda weak and not really tapping into the longer gameplay loop.
>The sim-i-ness of the economy is lower than I’d like. Lots of magic money flying around when it comes to pops.
>Provinces only having 1 good is kinda silly. The granularity makes up for it a little bit, but, especially, in India and China, 500k folks in a place that ONLY produces legumes seems kinda silly.
I'm gonna wait and see before buying, personally. A year from now, it might be amazing.
