There have been ecumenism attempts. Copious amounts. The Orthodox Church is the only one resisting and it is massively growing in Germany. From 2 to 4 million in around 10 years. Sure, many of those hohols/liberashkas, but Slav/Greek/Vlach frens and German converts and births too too.
