Unironically short barrel AR15 or something big like a 1911 with big irons. Gf doesn't really go shooting all that much so she needs something simple and easy to use because she isnt going to practice. Small pistols are bad for inexperienced shooters because of bad sights and difficult to hold grips, most small .380s are less pleasant to shoot than full size steel pistols in bigger calibers like .45
