Yeah, Napoléon was a bandit in most things. A bit like trump today, except he had the Grande Armée to back his threats. His politics was to come to lords around him, send them letters like "what can you do to make me NOT want to pound you into oblivion", and since he had the cheat code of having the army of the republic (made out of free men instead of lords+mercenaries) he could win all his wars by sheer numbers.
He didn't care much about supplies because his idea was to pay his troops in loot and this is that, rather than "winter" that pretty much ended him in his russian campaign.
